While the damaged piece was removed, it left the drain without a guard between the grates. Therefore, anybody on a bicycle could get a wheel caught in the open space resulting in damage to the bicycle or if the rider is thrown in front of a car, death.

Issue 4495811 has been closed but it shouldn't be. It is for a completely different drain. As a matter of fact, I've seen at least 8 drains that are in a poor state of repair in this area. Missing parts, parts bent, etc.
