Is there any update on this? It's impossible for this single mom to push the stroller and walk the dog. The cars come too fast around the blind curve to cross the street!

Seems like the county’s fix was to close the sidewalk. At least it was open before.

Area video inspected 6/26. Repairs will involve the removal and replacement of the pipe running under the sidewalk. Sidewalk is severely undermined at this location. As such, the sidewalk must remain closed until repairs are completed and the area made safe. Area is properly closed off and signs are posted. Advise pedestrians to use the other side of the road where possible; apologies for the inconvenience.

Area revisited 7/20. Area remains properly closed off with appropriate signage due to the large void under the sidewalk.

After construction, this area is still sinking with the last rain.

Soil settlement after rain is entirely normal following excavation and backfill. Contractor has not finished work in the area.

Someone should probably come put some dirt back under the new sidewalk then

Contractor work complete 8/22/18. Failed metal pipe replaced with HDPE. Area restored, sidewalk replaced. Reported soil settlement repaired before Contractor demobilized. Mayfield shop to monitor for any further soil settlement.
