Descrição
Our court was resurfaced mid last year around (May 2017) and during this process the asphalt level in the court was raised. We are at the bottom of the court and this year we have experienced that a lot of rain water that flows down the court is not getting appropriately routed into the only storm drain inlet. The water is bouncing off our and neighbor's curbs and entering our lawn creating significant water logging. On our driveway, the water invariably climbs over the driveway and runs down our driveway. This has become a major problem. Our grading is fine and it can handle all the water that falls on our property but it cannot handle the flow of this excess water that is coming down the court and instead of going into the storm drain inlet, runs down our driveway. Please look into it immediately.

I would also make your HOA aware, they may have been the ones responsible for the paving and it may be under a contractual agreement for repairs and grievances.

Thank you for submitting your request to the Howard County Department of Public Works. Our staff will investigate this issue and respond.
Jim B. Investigated 3/29/19. I did not observe any erosion in the public right of Way. I inspected the drain at the end of the court and it is in need of repairs. SeeClickFix 5611820 was created to address the repair. While observing the inlet, it appears the pipe may be reaching its life expectancy. I need to follow- up with the County Real Estate Services in locating any County easement. SeeClickFix 5611848 addresses that issue fr follow-up. I noticed a small broken section of asphalt curbing, SeeClickFix 5611868 was created to address that issue.

This issue has not been addressed. The raised asphalt curb that was created when the roads were resurfaced is not tall enough to route the water appropriately to the drain inlet. It pushes the water into our yard instead. And this is not only with a heavy rain event. The slightest bit of rain has water coming into our yard from the street.
Thanks for looking into this.
