Hello Sean and Michele, I received the letter dated 8/21/18 regarding retrofitting the pond across the street from my residence at 8309 Fall Chill Ct. Lot 115. I previously spoke with Sean regarding the increased amount of water flowing and flooding along the right side of my house.

Over the last several years the water has backed up during most rain showers and especially with the last few hard rains causing the water to flood over onto the street on Fall Chill Ct.

The existing drainage pipe is too small to allow the increased amount of water to pass under the street.

There is also an increase of water from the back (left side) of my yard coming from Kings Height, crossing over to my yard.

I have added french drains along with my neighbor at 8305 Fall Chill, Lot 114, to try to control the increase in water flow over the years but the water flow is increasing and difficult to manage.

There is also in increase is the size of the swale on the right side of my property causing the soil to degrade away, if I recall the county added additional stones to no avail, the water has become too powerful.

I also noticed the rear yards of my neighbors, Lot 116/117/118 also have large amounts of water collecting on most of their rear yards over the past few years.

There does seem to be an increase in water flow over the last five years, not sure if the construction of the YMCA/ Middle school and Beazer condos have contributed or not but seems to correlate with the increase of water passing over and beside the properties.

A representative from Stormwater Management conducted a site visit on Sept 11th. It was noted that the endwall section of the pipe has corroded and there is a sinkhole on the embankment above the storm drain pipe (towards the sidewalk). Also riprap that had been previously placed by the County has been dislodged This concern has been forwarded to highways to investigate the condition of the pipe and to replace/add riprap.
