    Drainage swale in front of properties from 5422-5440 Kerger Road needs to be cleaned out, regraded, and pipes unclogged to convey runoff. Water is overtopping swale and flowing across the road into properties on other side of road..
  • 8240 Preston Court Jessup, MD - Howard County
    There is a large sink hole located near a storm drain manhole located at the rear of 8250 Preston Court. Sink hole is on hill slope towards stormwater management pond located between 8240 and 8250 Preston Court. Damage also noted at storm drainage headwall at rear of 8250 Preston Court (ties into storm drainage system with sinkhole). Sinkhole is located above storm drainage pipe system.

    Hole developed next to manhole on access way to stormwater pond located 9060 JUNCTION DRIVE access to right of building.
  • 3965 Gray Rock Drive Ellicott City, MD - Ellicott City
    Culvert at upstream side of Gray Rock Drive adjacent to 3965 Gray Rock needs to be cleaned out and leaves and other debris removed. Culvert is clogged backing water up into property.
  • 12120 Triadelphia Road Ellicott City, MD - Howard County
    Resident has 3 concerns regarding roadway. First is the edge of pavement adjacent to grass is eroding, diminishing the roadway width (see picture 1). Second several years ago the county provided a paved berm in front of driveway to keep runoff from flowing into driveway. Berm has eroded and would like to have that reestablished (picture 2). Third, between 12120 and 12100 Triadelphia Road, there is a bump on the southbound side of the road which is creating a hazard to driving (picture 3)

    Resident reported a concern regarding the concrete swale along Beechfield Avenue that ends right before his property starts. The swale was constructed by the county. Resident is getting water in basement as water flows from the road, down driveway to the his house. Resident would like the swale continue past property or storm drain installed to capture runoff that ends at his property line.

    Resident requested county to clean out debris from drainage swale along road from intersection of Cellbridge Court and Cellbridge Drive, along Sharp Road, down to the intersection of Burntwoods Road.
  • 8518 Marybeth Way Ellicott City, MD - Ellicott City
    Resident reported blocked outfall between 8518 Marybeth Way and 5017 Alice Ave (in rear of 8518 Marybeth Way). Outfall is tied to existing storm drain system on Alice Ave. Pipe may have also separated since there are 2 foot deep holes along the pipe line upstream from the endwall.

  • 8414 Cherrystone Court Laurel, MD - North Laurel
    Resident notified County that large trees that had been along the streambank on county property fell during storm on July 30th onto park easement property next to house. Trees are blocking culvert outfall into stream.
  • 3784 Plum Spring Lane Ellicott City, MD - Ellicott City
    Resident reported concern regarding drop inlet located in easement at the rear of property. Runoff doesn't reach the inlet properly, causing runoff in yard and in the past into house. Swale that drains to inlet needs grading; inlet cleaned; and possibly pipe inspected.
  • 10642 Scaggsville Road Laurel, Maryland - North Laurel
    Resident notified county that drainage swale at back of property needs maintenance and that mulberry trees have grown in channel now. Trees have fallen in recent storms and are now on resident's property. County use to provide maintenance on this drainage swale but maintenance hasn't been done in a couple of years. Resident would like drainage swale maintained and fallen trees removed.
  • 7980 Brightlight Place Elkridge, MD - Howard County
    A resident called regarding erosion concerns at Facilities 1891 and 1892 as well as the riprap swale at the end of Old Montgomery Road which drains into 1891 and another swale in Pond 1891 that is missing riprap and filter fabric is exposed. Resident is particularly concerned about facility 1892 because of standing water, the facility doesn't seem to drain well and large amount of sediment deposition.
  • 1215 Crystal Ridge Road Marriottsville, MD - Howard County

    A resident called about erosion that is occurring at the Comcast and BGE transformer at the end of grass swale adjacent to his property. The swale which captures runoff from the road and property ends at these structures and is causing erosion' He is concerned that they will lose service from these structures and is also concerned about the erosion damage being done as the water is directed back onto his and his neighbors property at these structures.

    There is an existing inlet on the opposite side of the road and his other question/concern is can the County add an inlet on his side of the roadway to capture the flow from the swale and connect it to the existing storm drain system.
