What has been done to fix this issue and what is the frequency of non charging vehicles been now that a fix has been done. Is there any information ? Thank you for what has been done.
Latest information is that availability for EV to recharge in the evenings has improved. Have the police issued many parking tickets or has that been unnecessary? (Parking officer is off duty in the evening so it's up to police to manage evening violations.)
The Wind Turbines in Gloucester provide $300,000+ in revenue to the city each year. The electricity provided by those turbines is the property of all Gloucester taxpayers. EV charging is part of that. The state of the art in EV charging requires direct wired connectivity between the car being charged and the grid. We can't afford to place charging stations at every parking space so we designate a few parking spaces for EV parking. It's our right as Gloucester tax payers. Does that help explain why we have those spaces designated for EV charging?
Checking our records we have responded many times to this area and tickets have been issued and cars have been towed. This is just one of the areas our cruisers patrol on a daily basis. We always ask the public to call when violations are observed so we can address the problem when it is occurring. I hope this answers any questions on the issue Chief John McCarthy
