2 campsites on the east side of Constitution Way, adjacent to the sidewalk on the former Beltline Railroad bed. Code violations:

4-1.2 - Littering Unlawful. (Ord. No. 2205 N.S.)
4-1.9 - Shopping Carts. (Ord. No. 2205 N.S.)
4-28.4 - Roaming or Loitering on Streets, Sidewalks, and Other Public Places. (Ord. No. 1648 N.S.; Ord. No. 2816 N.S. § 4)
23-7.2 - Unlawful Camping. (Ord. No. 2716 N.S. § 1)
23-7.3 - Storage of Personal Property in Public Places. (Ord. No. 2716 N.S. § 1)

These campsites appeared after the Sweeney Park was cleared on 7/10-11/2017.

These need to be attended to before they attract other campers, accumulate garbage and human waste and create a hazard for those living near this area or walking near this area.

I thought the City would be prepared to handle the tresspassers if the Sweeney Open Park from moving to another site. Those bushes on Constitution should be taken down so there is no places to hide.

The encampments are still there as of this morning 6:45. Also, I saw a person exit our community and walk towards the encampment.

We will send some officers out today to deal with this issue. In the future it is better to call our non-emergency line at 337-8340, so we can dispatch officers ASAP. SEECLICKFIX is not monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have any questions feel free to call me.

Yes, we will all have to stay on it. The police (ty for all you do) will continue to get calls. Maybe someone should order those bushes cut. That might help all of us.

Agreed -- if the bushes were cut, there would no longer be locations to set up these illegal encampments. Yesterday, while driving eastbound on Atlantic, I glanced over to the area identified, and a police officer had pulled over a vehicle. I don't know if the two incidents were related, but had the officer not known about the encampment, it would've stayed hidden behind the bushes.
