The fire hydrant at 187 Hopkins Ave was leaking in January (the issue has been archived so a new thread had to be opened). Today, after 5 months, SUEZ is finally starting to resurface the affected parts of the sidewalk surrounding the fire hydrant (see the attached photo). Thanks to everybody involved to make this happening !

The fire hydrant on Hopkins Ave near the corner Summit Ave and Hopkins Ave is leaking large amounts of water since many days without anybody doing anything about it. Water is a precious resource and should not be wasted. Due to the cold weather, water accumulated in large ponds which then froze to ice covering part of the pavement as well as part of the sidewalk (see attached picture).

I would like to report a health hazard issue arising from pigeons nesting in our backyard. All the winows are full of bird droppings (see the attached picture), at least once a month I have to remove a dead pigeons from the ground and put it into garbage. I am the lanlord of the property and I would like to keep the property clean and healthy. But the invasion by pigeons is excessive. I know that ii is illegal to poison them so I will not undertake anything. But the amount of bird droppings is really a health issue. Looking out of the window, we have to face the whole house wall defaced with bird droppings. I am writing to report a really serious issue hoping that the city can advice me what do do. I can install bird spikes on my property (which I already did partly), but I can not force my neighbor to do the same. Even in some public spaces in Jersey City, one has to be careful where one is walking. Occasionally the area is so polluted with bird droppings that I prefer not to walk in these streets.

The population of pigeons in Jersey City needs to be controlled in order to prevent diseases and excessive bird droppings.

    Please help us !
