Tree Health Assessment Request Archived64 Harvard Ave Medford MA 02155, United States - Medford
A tree that the city had a sidewalk cut in and tree planted appears to be dead/very poor health. Can the city get this tree replaced under warranty? I have seen 4-5 other new trees that were planted last winter and appear to be in poor heath as well should these be reported in this app to make sure they are replaced under warranty as well?
Thank you

Tree Health Assessment Request Acknowledged80 Harvard Ave Medford MA 02155, United States - Medford
Hello,
In 2014/2015 this tree was cut down. Now there are 3 different trees growing next to the stump (eastern red cedar, callery pear, and a hackberry?). With the stump and 3 trees all growing so closely I'm concerned that none of the trees will grow to be fully grown healthy trees. Can this be assessed and fixed? Perhaps the stump can be cut flush with the ground and two of the trees be removed allowing for one healthy tree to grow?
Note I posted a similar request yesterday under the tree stumps category before I knew three heath assessments was a category so the other request may be closed if applicable.

Park Play Structure Issue ArchivedDugger Park Medford MA 02155, United States - Medford
Is an asphalt or paint asphalt finish the plan for the Rhone tennis courts? Why was asphalt chosen? The previous concrete surface was not in great condition, but likely would have been in better condition than the asphalt surface will be in a few years - even with the ~12" base the contractor put on top of the previous tennis court elevation.
The new asphalt surface is only 2" thick and now has tire/track imprints and a gouge (see attached picture) from the heavy equipment. Can this be repaired before accepting the job as completed?

Street Signage Archived1–73 Kilgore Ave Medford MA 02155, United States - Medford
Kilgore Ave has a private way resident parking only subject to towing sign, however this road appears to be a public way according to the city's website (https://www.medfordma.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/StreetList-2016.pdf)
If this is indeed a public way can the private way sign be removed?

Crosswalks throughout the city have faded significantly since being painted late August 2017.
These same crosswalks were faded Spring 2017 after painting Fall 2016 and Faded Spring 2016 after painting Fall 2015. Can the city install durable high viability/reflective thermalplastic crosswalks that will last longer than 7 months? Tufts installed thermalplastic crosswalks on Boston Ave / College Ave Summer 2017 which have not faded at all.

Newly Painted Crosswalks Fading Archived51 Harvard Ave Medofrd, MA - Medford
The cross walks that were painted at the end of August 2017 have faded by 10% to 20% as of September 14, 2017 (see attached picture).
It's great that the city visible crosswalks for the first couple weeks of the school year, but I fear that the cross walks will have almost no visibility by early Spring 2018, just like last year.
It looks like heavy trucks and buses are able to wear the paint down.

Weekly street sweeping Archived90-94 Boston Ave Medford, MA 02155, USA - Medford
The scheduled weekly Monday and Tuesday early morning (12 am - 6am) street sweeping on Boston Ave and Harvard Ave has not happened for the past two weeks and has been inconsistent throughout the summer.
Our streets are getting dirty with trash and leaves. Most people are moving their cars in observance of the sweeping parking signs. Can the city resume scheduled street sweeping?

Faded Crosswalks Archived484-490 High Street Medford, Massachusetts - Medford
Almost all of the cross walks throughout West Medford are faded. Can the cross walks be repaired?
Cross walk fading seems to be a perennial issue for Medford most of the cross walks were repainted Fall 2016 and now, less than 9 months later, faded beyond recognition. It is obvious the material used in the past is not of good quality and not very visible even when new. Does the city have a warranty on the work the contractor did? If not can a difference contractor be hired to install higher quality material? It seems most cities in the area use a reflective glass bead material.

30 to 50 cars have been parked every Monday and Tuesday morning (12AM to 7AM) along Harvard Ave and Boston Ave during weekly street sweeping hours. The street sweeping signs say cars will be towed during the no parking hours. Can parking rules be enforced?
The street sweeper has had to drive around the parked cars missing large portions of Harvard Ave and Boston Ave.
