Description

The sidewalk on Crest at Buena Vista
(East side of the street at Slauson Hill) is pure ice, and has been treacherous since the last snowfall.
This is city/school district property and is rarely ever cleared. If a homeowner had sidewalks like this we would be ticketed. This is a heavily trafficked sidewalk and needs to be cleared regularly.

Ann Arbor Schools have been notorious for not clearing sidewalk snow on various parcels that evidently are not obvious to their snow removal crews/contractors ( i.e., not directly adjacent to or in
front of the school building itself, but nevertheless are still school property/sidewalk.). Repeated calls to school officials have gotten few results.

City staff telephoned Ann Arbor Public Schools at 734-994-8118. Dianne is the employee that answered the phone and she stated she would have the sidewalk inspected and treated. Dianne and her co-workers have been very responsive when called by city staff - always.

Responsiveness is appreciated to be sure. It would be even more appreciated if they cleared their sidewalks in a timely manner, without intervention by city staff. An occasional "miss" is understandable.:However, we are referring to areas that, year after year, do not get cleared. Somehow Dianne and her staff are not able to communicate well enough to resolve this. The same is true for many areas of grass/lawn.
