Description

This crosswalk is blocked EVERY DAY from 3 PM to 3:30 by the Ann Arbor Open School pickup line. This is a SCHOOL ZONE. Kids are crossing here at this time. Forcing pedestrians to bow out into Miller, and blocking the view of turning cars creates a dangerous situation. For parents with strollers, or the disabled members of our community, blocking the curb cut out is also hazardous (especially in winter when we are forced to climb the snow drift).
This is dangerous and it's rude. If I sat in their lane of traffic and played on my phone for 20 minutes and let them go around me, they would be offended too.
This intersection needs...paint, signs, a crossing guard, a cop, a raised cross walk? I don't know. But I ask people all the time to please not block the cross walk and they don't move and no one changes behavior (I think they worry someone will cut them in line if they don't stay close? Who knows. One has to assume they aren't consciously being horrible, but wow.) Let's fix this before a kid gets hurt, or worse.
