While I understand the idea of closing such issues as warmer weather approaches, I'm disappointed with that decision in this case. In the several weeks since this issue was reported, I have (again) spoken to the homeowner, and just received excuses from him. The problem has NOT been resolved - not by the homeowner, not by the warming temperatures, and not by the city. Because they did not remove snow or ice all winter, the accumulation has resulted in an approximately 2-inch thickness of ice. While all the other snowy/icy spots in the neighborhood have melted, this remains a treacherously icy area -- and as the top surface may start to melt slightly, because of the depth, it remains 1-2 inches of ice beneath 1/8 inch of water. Then the lower temps at night freezes that top layer again to even more treacherous ice. Yesterday & today, during dog walks, there are the expected large puddles throughout the neighborhood, but this section is still solid ice (see attached photo).
I would appreciate your reconsidering the closing of this issue. I'm not sure why a city has ordinances such as this if they are not then going to enforce the ordinance. While I'm always in favor of working things out with neighbors before reporting such things to authorities, that has not worked in this case - since it has been an ongoing problem for the 3+ years they have lived there, (and I know of other neighbors who have also spoken to this homeowner about the issue -- also unsuccessfully), so I felt that this was the best next avenue. If that is not correct, please advise otherwise.

Lori, since they haven't even looked at this one, I would suggest re-opening it.

I went to the See Click Fix website and viewed the photo. A Community Standard's Officer will go to this address this morning for enforcement. Thank you,

with all the rain and wind yesterday, the ice FINALLY melted. I'm sure it will be a problem again next year, so if they continue to ignore their sidewalk, I will report it again. Thank you.
