Thank for sharing your concerns with the City of Ann Arbor. The parking permission on Sundays and Holidays is a condition that exists on many corridors throughout the City. This parking scenario was developed as a way to compromise between community needs. Your comments will be retained to inform future projects.

The safety issue isn’t addressed by your reply, nor do I truly understand the necessity of allowing parking in this location - there’s so much other parking taking nearby on Sundays. I’ll reiterate that allowing parking in a major bike lane is dangerous. Will it take a cyclist being hit by a car for something to be done? Given that there is a marked bike lane, cars aren’t necessarily expecting cyclists to enter the car lane - particularly when drivers are expecting cyclists to use the marked bike lane. I’ve seem cyclists verbally assailted by drivers when they don’t use the marked bike lane. Allowing parking in the bike lane is like allowing parking in a crosswalk. Please either remove the signage for parking or the bike lane markings.
