Description
The two large trees adjacent to the city sidewalk on the East side of 4th Street South just South of 59th Avenue are seriously dangerous. Every storm brings down large limbs, and some fall onto the sidewalk during calm weather. The tree in the foreground has lost about 40% of its previous mass in falling limbs.

Update from Community Services: The reported tree(s) has been evaluated and is not completely dead or in imminent danger of falling, therefore no City action is warranted at this time. A door hanger was left advising that the maintenance of trees that are located in the right-of-way is the responsibility of the abutting property owner. To obtain a permit for tree removal, the property owner may contact Zoning at 727-893-7471. For more information about protected, grand, and signature trees as well as other regulations governing tree removal, please visit our Urban Forestry webpage by following the link below:

If you feel that this tree is posing a safety issue for residents and that the abutting property owner is not maintaining it as they are required to do, please contact the Codes Compliance Assistance Department at 727-893-7373.
