Thank you for the Swift Response. This is the Left Heading Towards the E Lakeview Dr. Closest to the I-40 East Ramp. There's a Old Blue Cross Blue shield Building that's Being Renovated, and Lots Of Construction Workers Work here and this Take this Route to Approach their Construction Trailers. This Signal Causes a Extreme delay in getting to the Workplace in the Mornings, My Suggestion would be that a Left Yield Sign Would br really Helpful So the People like us who take the Left will Yield to the Traffic towards I-40 East Ramp. This Would do so much Good and Save Our Time in the Mornings.

During the early morning, the left turn from 15-501 onto Lakeview has up to 40 seconds of green time during the morning peak hours. It cuts short if no more traffic is detected in the left turn lane.

However, we have reviewed the actual timings in the field, and we are getting low amount of green time recorded for each cycle. There should be extensions for more traffic in the left lane.

The Town will send the signal technicians to the intersection to diagnose the signal equipment.

The Town of Chapel Hill has consulted with NCDOT, and NCDOT will not allow left-turns other than with a green arrow. Therefore, left into oncoming green traffic will not be permitted.

The Town of Chapel Hill reviewed the timing for the left-turn to Lakeview Dr. The Town allows up to 40 seconds of green left-arrow during the morning timing plans. If the system detects no more vehicles in the left-lane, the green arrow will terminate early, provide more time to the straight movement.

This is allows for the flexibility in changing traffic, while also allowing more time for work vehicles turning in to the site.
