Traffic SignalAcknowledged800 Eastowne Dr Chapel Hill, NC 27514, USA - Chapel HillThere's a Signal to Taking a Left on Eastowne Drive to the Blue Cross Blueshield Old Building. This Particular Signal doesnt even Last until 4 Cars Move its Extremely Less Time and it consumes more time to get a Signal back. This is a Work Place to us and it causes Extreme in the Morning. I Would Suggest to Get a Yield Left Signal to this Particular Road. 5901 Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, Chapel Hill, NC

Traffic SignalAcknowledged464 W Franklin St Chapel Hill, NC, 27516, USA - Chapel HillI've seen several people nearly get hit at this intersection. I'm guilty - I've nearly been hit as a pedestrian, and while driving I've almost hit a pedestrian. During winter, there's low light and it's easy to speed with the wide street cross-section here. Additional lighting, reflective striping, or a pedestrian flasher sign could greatly improve safety at this intersection. Could you please look into this? Thank you!

Traffic SignalAcknowledged101-175 S Merritt Mill Rd Chapel Hill, NC, 27516, USA - Carrboro
The light for traffic going northbound (heading towards Crook's Corner) on S Merritt Mill (crossing Franklin) does not stay green for long enough during high traffic times during the week. As there is both oncoming traffic (away from Crook's Corner) and no left turn signal, traffic routinely gets backed up here, leading to only 2-3 cars sometimes being able to turn/cross the street per cycle, followed by a long wait for traffic on Franklin/E Main St.
I would request someone either investigate the addition of a left turn signal, or longer green light for the traffic heading towards Crook's Corner during high traffic times.

Green Arrow RequestedAcknowledged610 West Franklin Street Chapel Hill, NC - CarrboroI'm a citizen in Chapel Hill. I'm emailing regarding the traffic light between East Main St and S Merritt Mill Rd, an oftentimes very busy intersection. I believe the traffic light needs a green arrow for those waiting on S Merritt Mill Rd and hoping to turn left. Without a green arrow, S Merritt Mill Rd has a long line of cars waiting to turn left but are stuck for (what can be) 20 minutes because there are too many cars from East Main driving straight. I also sometimes see cars stuck waiting over the train tracks.

Signal timer is awfulAcknowledged8502 Seawell School Road Chapel Hill, North Carolina - Chapel Hill
I waited FOUR MINUTES at 6:36-6:40pm this afternoon, on Seawell School trying to turn left onto Homestead. I know they were working on the lights in preparation for deploying new lights at the intersection for the new subdivision, but it's been like this for WEEKS. This is ridiculous.
If it cannot be timed properly, put it on red/yellow blinking outside school hours.

Traffic Signal at I-40 Eastbound RampAcknowledged1802 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard Chapel Hill, NC - Chapel Hill
I am a commuter into Chapel Hill Monday -Friday almost all year round. The ramp exiting east bound I 40 has always been challenging at certain times. I completely understand that there are difficulties with how to make that intersection work smoothly during high traffic times. But in the last couple of weeks it seems to be worse.
For the past couple of days I’ve commuted while in line to turn right onto MLK only about 3 cars at a time have been able to turn and fit in the lane without blocking the intersection. For the past couple of days I have had drivers behind me in the queue drive around me to fill up the intersection so when traffic begins they are in line. The only this is accomplished is by them pulling into the intersection blocking both lanes.
I know there may not be much that can be done but perhaps a little traffic enforcement there would be helpful. Concerned about potential accidents !!

Traffic SignalAcknowledgedHomestead Road Chapel Hill, NC - CarrboroProblem Traffic too fast
Signage issue/Needs wayfinding
Feels unsafe
Location Problem intersection
Additional Comments There is a crosswalk here to cross Homestead Road into Homestead Park. Traffic goes in both directions very fast and very rarely give right of way to the pedestrian trying to cross even if they are on the crosswalk. Basically cars do not obey the crosswalk or pedestrian crossing signs that exist--it's as if the crosswalk was not there because one has to wait until traffic is gone both ways to be able to cross. Simply adding a pedestrian light to the crosswalk might make cars more likely to give pedestrians the right-of-way. Thank you. -
Traffic SignalOpenChapel Hill NC - Chapel Hill
During the morning rush hour, there are frequently 10 -15 cars waiting to turn left and it often takes 2 or 3 lights before you can turn.
Can you:
1) lengthen the turn signal
2) change the two left lanes to left turn only? Across the street at Mount Carmel Church Road , those lanes were recently turned to 2 right turn lanes.
Thanks very much and let me know if you need more input from our neighborhood.
