A mess

The following email was sent to the Property Manager:

"Dear Property Owner/Manager:

The following report was made through SeeClickFix: https://seeclickfix.com/issues/5169576-trash-or-illegal-dumping

Please have trash and/or debris removed immediately. Any recycling needs to be in wheeled and covered recycling totes. Please let me know when this has been addressed.

Thank you for your cooperation"

This issue has been an ongoing problem that Bissonette Prpperty Mgmt continues to ignore—or simply remedies just enough to pass inspection for a day.

Each time a complaint is made they eventually send out a crew that comes and clears just enough trash so it no longer appears to be overflowing, only to have the issue resurface a few days later. I’m fairly confident that Myers has not been by to empty the dumpster in 3+ weeks and won’t be surprised when the problem arises again once this round has been cleared.

There is constantly garbage on the ground as a result which then spews out into the streets and neighboring lots. It would be really wonderful if they were held accountable as this mismanagement has a negative impact on both the environment and the community as a whole.

This is an issue we are actively dealing with - the smaller totes are there to switch over from the dumpster. We have called and stopped by the property numerous times after speaking with Myer's Trash and much to our frustration have not seen progress. Lynn, a manager for the business, stated that she is trying to get someone out today to remove the dumpster, however they are saying the dumpster is frozen to the ground. We have heavily salted the area, and have a work order open with our staff to clean up the property today. I have also talked with Patricia Wehman with the city on our repeated issues. Our goal has been to switch over to the totes for easier pickup, and currently have pickup twice a week.

Also, we do ask that tenants only enter on the property - while we appreciate the updates, the angle of the photo causes concern that you are in the back corner of the property which can be a massive concern for the safety of our tenants. Cara--Thanks for the update. Had a resolution of the issue or your progress report been more timely, KeepBTVGreen and others would have no need to re-comment or re-photograph this lingering violation, from any angle.

Yes, I can agree on that - we try to check SeeClickFix as much as we can, however this report slipped through which is why we always encourage contacting us directly for faster communication. I'll keep this book marked and start checking in at the property daily until I see steady progress.

As a small update, I just had the owner also call and also speak to someone higher up at Myer's to confirm what we spoke about earlier, the complaints received, and getting this cleared.

I stopped at the property tonight - please see attached photo. Dumpster has been removed, and rolling totes will be used in their place. Our team stopped by and cleaned up all trash not frozen to the ground and repaired signs. I will continue to check in to be sure of timely pickup twice a week as well as that tenants are using the bins properly.

This issue was resolved.
