Neither of the two sets of pedestrian RRFBs either side of So. Willard St. at the roundabout is activated from the east side. From the west side, only the RRFBs above the (west) pedestrian beg button are activated when that button is pushed.

Following welcome reset of crosswalk, the warning sign (with “Ahead” placard) to the north of crosswalk finds itself somewhat obscured and twice as far from the crosswalk as its mate to the south. Can we move it to a more prominent location closer to the crosswalk? (And thanks for moving the 2 signs with arrow placards to the new crosswalk!)

Thanks for the much welcome move of the crosswalk! Unfortunately, the crosswalk warning signs haven’t yet kept up with the move.

City of Burlington staff have NOT resolved either request 15057790 or 15185746, leaving residual grit from the St. Paul St. asphalt removal and the accumulating flotsam and jetsam from storms dating back to July. A simple pass or two of the sweeper on the way back to park it after making its much needed rounds clearing the widespread accumulation of storm debris across the city streets and bike lanes would be much appreciated by bicyclists here.

City of Burlington staff have NOT resolved request 15057790. Grass clippings and less dense flotsam and jetsam have been washed into catch basins, leaving residual grit from the St. Paul St. asphalt removal and the original flotsam and jetsam.

Continuing zoning violation: Lawn barrier unlocked and removed by rental property management since 2022, allowing unregulated, overflow parking off zoned parking spaces. Former lawn now includes a “water feature/urban mosquito birthing center” from ongoing vehicle traffic. (Photo from 8:00 a.m. 29 Aug. 2023)

Lawn debris actively blown onto street by landscapers. And recent rainfall has added more flotsam and jetsam.

It took 5 attempts at pushing the pedestrian button on the NW corner this afternoon before the the red pilot light at the button lit, and later for the pedestrian signal to light up. Also, while waiting for the pedestrian signal, couldn’t help but notice the duration of the northbound green light at this intersection seems excessively long for the limited traffic. Please see recently closed issue # 13641378. Thanks.

Pictured is one of a number of individual ipe deck boards on the waterfront boardwalk which have curled at their ends, creating trip hazards. (As all are ends, I suspect that the blind screws underneath have split the wood at that vulnerable spot, releasing the boards from their fasteners.) Coming up with a fix would be a good off-season project before running a snowplow over them, and before the heavy pedestrian traffic of the upcoming tourist season.

Both the north- and south-side pedestrian beg buttons for the western crosswalk across Church St. are not responding reliably: the south button seems to only make contact when it is firmly pressed at around the “7 o’clock” area on the button; the north button seems to only respond when pressed on a limited area of the upper half.

The RFB's for the southbound lane of Shelburne St. are not activated from the east side of Shelburne St. for pedestrians crossing from E to W to the south of the new roundabout. (Only the RFB's for the northbound lane are activated, leaving pedestrians to fend off vehicular traffic without aid from the splitting peninsula and west.)
