Laura - Thanks for reporting. A few weeks ago I reported this same exact issue. Hopefully the City will take notice and take a more proactive approach in keeping roadways clear for cyclists and motorists.

Thanks for reporting this. I bike commute this way everyday and the dumpster is way too close to the entrance of the dedicated bicycle lane. On many occasions I've had to ride past the bike lane entrance/dumpster and enter the bike lane at the parking garage entrance (annoying the cars behind me). This dumpster needs to be pushed back for everyone's safety. Thanks.

Hi, I wanted to explain why the dumpster is there. Before the bicycle lane was put into place, the dumpsters were located on the sidewalk. Waste Management can no longer pick up the dumpsters from the sidewalk now that the bike lane is there. The City of Emeryville asked Wareham to put the dumpsters in this new location so Waste Management can pick up. We are now working with the city to help communicate with Waste Management to ask them to drop the bins off after service, and push back against the sidewalk. We will continue to monitor the situation. Thank you.

The original dumpster has been moved over – thank you. But today I found another bigger dumpster parked completely blocking the entrance to the bike lane. What’s up with this?

I have asked our janitors to go remove it right away. We really need help from Waste Management to put the bins back in the correct location once they are serviced. Thank you.
