Thanks for reporting this. I've reported it as well. It would be great if the city would put those cement barriers along the side walk where cars tend to often pull up too far and block the sidewalk. We walk by here all the time and have to walk out in the street some times.
We're still awaiting the results of DPW's investigation. The overgrowth of Japanese knotweed and frequent parking across remaining slip of sidewalk continues. Just last month, I saw a driver apologizing for blocking the sidewalk as she noticed the issue while walking back to her parked car: a group of pedestrians was forced to walk into the street around her car to continue on to the gelateria. (I waited for her to back up.)
This happens every single day at this location. The question is, should this ticket be open? There are other tickets with this issue. The purpose of this system is that items are being managed, but if there is no response from the city in almost a year, the vast majority of the population wouldn't consider it being managed.
Mike--"Management" for our city is by our elected mayor, city councilors, their designated department heads and commission members. We can point out issues for attention (S,C,F, etc.) and elect/re-elect them, or not. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but other than that, the residents and electorate of Burlington have no ability to direct funding/attention to any project, or issue except through specific bonding requests. Having said this, I, too, would like to hear from "management" on their perspective for this issue here on S,C,F.
You are receiving this message because you have previously (or perhaps just now) submitted a request on SeeClickFix. We're excited to let you know that we are now implementing a comprehensive asset management program which is a mostly "behind the scenes" effort. This will enable more efficient, more effective and more fiscally sound infrastructure management. Nothing changes for you and we'll continue to use SeeClickFix, but we have had to automate a process to connect our open SCF requests with our asset management program. There may be the occasional bug to work out, but rest assured that your issue is still in queue and assigned to the right City staffer. Once this initial round of automation is through in about a week, we'll revert back to our standard messages on SeeClickFix.
