I reported this boat and others about two weeks ago. I do not understand why Alameda has harbor patrol with new boats and this continues to happen in the Encinal Basin not only at great cost to remove sunken boats but also the oil spills and other toxins that result from when these abandon boats sink. It is illegal to park the numerous boats in the basin for months on end . Others who have boats must adhere to the law for good reason. PLEASE RESPOND HARBOR PATROL.

The Marine Patrol addressed the 11 boats that were present last week and were in contact with the remaining boat owner that was left and I'm guessing you were referring to. The owner promised to move his boat and as the attached picture shows, the Basin is empty of any boats. The picture was taken approximately 30 minutes ago. As a reminder, the Marine Patrol is NOT staffed on a daily basis. It is staffed on weekends primarily and we do address issues as they arise and while the Marine Patrol is out they are very proactive. Please make us aware of any future issues and we will be happy to address them.

I did see that the majority of boats were gone after emailing pictures of the 11 boats when there was no visible change from previous complaint. Boats like these in the basin has been an ongoing problem and is not usually addressed timely , for example, both of the boats that sunk were reported long before they went down. Thank you for the clarification on when the Marine Patrol is staffed and response. .
