  It is beyond horrible. I live just down the street from here, and drive down 5th often. Cal Trans cleaned up the weeds, etc to the point of their jurisdiction (where the 880 on ramp starts), and once that ends it's just freaking disgusting.

  I need to figure who owns what, so I can reach out accordingly.
  However, am to believe that NO ONE from BART or the City of Oakland, politicians who serve the district travels this route, ever? This is an entryway to our city and this is what commuters and visitors see every day, filth. How can you work for any of these organizations and turn a blind eye?

  I live on this street so our surrounding area falls under one of three jurisdictions....it took about a year and a half of many emails and getting referred to various people and departments (and a really nice Cal Trans worker) to finally figure out who governs the sidewalk on 5th Street near our bldg, to determine whose job it was to take care of the large weeds growing out into the sidewalk!
