Description
Its scary--you can't even walk by...I have even seen children living in the squalor on Chestnut. The illegal dumping runs from Chestnut to Brush on 5th Street. Remains from the previous and current encampments, waist-high dry weeds and even tomato vines growing through the cracks of the sidewalk. Part of the property is BART (they have been provided with images, and the remaining areas are city property.
I have attached two pics of the sidewalk. I was too scared to walk over to the encampment to take photos of the area off of Chestnut. However, I can email the doc I sent to BART so you can see the mess between Market & Brush in its entirety. The doc also includes city property.

However, am to believe that NO ONE from BART or the City of Oakland, politicians who serve the district travels this route, ever? This is an entryway to our city and this is what commuters and visitors see every day, filth. How can you work for any of these organizations and turn a blind eye?
