We need traffic lights along Jersey ave and Erie. With all the new buildings and road construction cars are racing through the area. I have been complaining about the area for years. I hope you're better but they will never fix this. We need a new mayor!!! One that sees the future and makes the changes before it gets worse.

what about speed bumps???

There are already speed humps location along 9th Street in this area. Speed humps cannot be constructed along Jersey Avenue because this roadway is classified as a Minor Arterial Roadway north of 9th Street and according to State Statute, Title 39:4-8.9, it would be unlawful to construct a speed hump on a roadway carrying more than 3,000 daily vehicles.

There's a playground across the street from this intersection and there are several schools within just two blocks. It is unacceptable to allow this intersection to continue being as dangerous as it is. Supplemental stop signs are not going to solve the issue. If the traffic in 9th Street isn't enough to justify a traffic light, maybe it doesn't need to be open to vehicular traffic at all.

I already addressed this issue. There are streets next to parks and schools all across the country. The argument that because a traffic signal is not warranted, the street should be closed off to vehicular traffic is unreasonable.

Clearly you're too stupid to understand the argument. This intersection is dangerous. Drivers are completely disregarding the stop signs. Pedestrians are being hit by cars on a regular basis. Something needs to be done to protect the children and residents in the area.

Four months ago you claimed that new stop signs would be installed but those new signs haven't appeared.

We need traffic lights al along Jersey Ave and more speed bums up and down Erie, Marin, coles ans Monmouth.
Until then we need more police presence, which could be done immediately

This issue is not addressed. I cross this intersection everyday as I live on this block. It’s dangerous and there are 4 traffic vectors here. It’s a very uncomfortable intersection to cross as a pedestrian. Stop signs are not enough here.

There is a lot of anger and rightfully so. We cannot be second to the cars in this area!!! I think we should arrange a "walk around" in protest to the traffic in the area and what needs to be done. We could peacefully walk around the area crossing the street in a straight line causing traffic to SLOW DOWN and respect the pedestrian. We could form groups and deal with EVERY intersection of concern and show the Mayor and others we are not going to stand for this with summer approaching. Maybe Hamilton Park Association will take the lead on this since they have always proven to be a positive force in the neighborhood.

JCPD was asked when the man power is available for traffic monitoring.

Its funny but nonone responded to the suggestion of doing some type protest.

I wait at the bus stop by this intersection every day. Most people do not stop (heading east toward Jersey), race over the speed hump (thus it doesn’t work), and barely stop for pedestrians. Something needs to be done. Signs aren’t enough. Do you want video? It’s disgusting. I saw a school bus wait for 5 cars to cut it off before it had a chance to go.

What is the resolution here? Will JCPD monitor during rush hour? Something needs to be done to prevent more pedestrian injury/fatality statistics.
