  Hey, just so you know, the Kirkham site is slated for 'clean up' on Tuesday of next week. https://www.shelteroak.org/cleanupsclosures.htm. I hope this means that they're removing the whole site and not just cleaning it up. It's an awful mess that makes me want to leave Oakland.

  If the city could provide better low income affordable housing the homeless would not have to live in tents and make shift shacks or at least provide porta pottys and a small dumpster there would not be the garbage problem there is the box springs and outher garbage was dumped by people that dont live on kerkham st. The homeless are just as mad about it as you are

  Don't just complain about it do something about it pass legislation to provide affordable housing for the homeless the prices of housing in Oakland and the Alameda area are skyrocketing through the roof a person on Social Security or welfare cannot afford to live here and can't afford to leave

  It's not the city's responsibility (or anyone's responsibility, for that matter) to accommodate the homeless. The homeless are homeless by choice. They choose to abuse dr.u.g.s and live on the streets. I was homeless in my early 20s and I cleaned up my act and got myself a job, and got housing. There is no reason for being homeless in America, only excuses. Tired of seeing this bleeding-heart lib.eral nonsense all over the place. It is not our job to subsidize these voluntarily homeless vermin

  The only vermin here is people like you who asume that everyone that is who is homeless is a drug addic and homeless by choise you are sadly misinformed there are people like myself on ssi who are sick with kidney failure liver cancer on houseing list's from here to Sac.and don't get but $975 a month and were evicted because of the house being sold could you live and rent anywhere in the bay aera ? I dont think so !!!!
