Supported! I requested this quite some time ago. It’s needed. People aren’t going to walk to Lakeside to cross. Put in a crosswalk at Birchcliff.

We’ve had conversations over pints at Queen City about just getting some paint and doing it ourselves, to be honest.

Yes please! I live in the Birchcliff neighborhood, and it would be great to have a crosswalk at the bottom of the street. I hate having to dodge traffic as I run across Pine Street... all of the existing crosswalks are too far away. It only makes sense to have a crosswalk between the 2 breweries that are directly across the street from each other.

I don't get the sense that DPW is interested in this request, based on previous requests that have gone unanswered:

It seems like, if this were a priority, it would have gotten more of a response than just a re-categorization during the 39 months since DPW Technical Services first acknowledged the request.

So - what did technical service says? How bout an update? 3.5 years later and no crosswalk. I see they're adding cross walks and parking spots elsewhere today - how bout one there. It's only gotten worse since Pizza 41 opened.

A midblock crossing with a rectangular rapid flashing beacon has been installed at this location. The Department of Public Works has resolved this request. Thanks for helping to keep Burlington a great place to live and work.
