  This drug den of motorhomes & cars need to go. Isn't there a state law - no drugs within 300 ft. of a school? I don't get it. And yet every afternoon in the GCR Tire parking lot after 4pm - it's a heroin and crack infestation of users. I asked OPD about it and they said to contact the City Council? Really? Since when did heroin and crack become okay to use within 300 feet of a school attended by children K thru 12? I think the more outrage and pressure is put on this site as well as calling the numbers - the City & law enforcement will act - it's in front a school. I don't get it.

  Wow someone is getting very rich off this. Why else would our major, city council and our so called dept heads allow the violation of the City's own Laws, Ordinances, Rules and Regulations in such large numbers. They have very effectively tied the hand of of OPD even if they do write citations the courts throw them out and expunge there records. These street people now know they have carte blanche to break the law all they want at the tax payer expense mainly as long as it is under $950 in theft, damage ect.

  There is also a guy in a car who partially lives in some furniture on sidewalk a bit further up. He literally had a SAW out today and was sawing wood to add to what is starting to take over that part of the sidewalk!!!! Like in middle of sidewalk! Apparently city of oakland says that to report homeless we have to call opd 510 777 3333 . i called to report. And what if someone from the RV just grabs one of the kids walking by?! There are people going in and out of the RV everyday we have to kepp calling opd

  Yes Marilun, I've reported & complained about this too. I was told - I have to contact Oakland's Compassionate Homeless Program. I'm sure the Marriott would not be happy about this either - considering it's part of their property and they just put up that new fence last year to keep the area safe. He's building himself a house and blocking the sidewalk, not to mention the human waste and drug use of this man. He's a permanent fixture in the neighborhood. I believe if the parents, students and faculty were to contact the City - it would apply pressure to clean up the area.

  And this person has been asked to not park his RV in front of the school multiple times - he just circles around the area. Now he's parked/camped across the street from 210 Hegenberger Loop - making it difficult for parent/student pick up & drop off. CA License #2CRM832. He knows better.

  The parents literally went put together on tuesday and took pictures and made reports of that and of one of the trailers and the next day...yesterday, the trailer and car were gone. Now parents are mobilizing to report the others in the area but we need this for the whole neighborhood..

  Yay Marilun - strength of voices get things done. I hope the school faculty or administration will jump on this sooner in the future. I hope the parents and students complain to the front office. I'm well aware of the plight and situation of homelessness but not in front of schools.

  I work at the school and am a parent. Staff has put in reports. Some are ones you can vote on here via their personal accounts. But parents also reporting it really has helped. We hope to keep doing it until the city listens and helps take care of our students.
