Sue,
This is the same area that we dealt with a couple years ago. It appears as though they (HOA) still have not done anything to correct the problem.

There are two problems. Erosion from the hillside and poor/incorrect sloping of the sidewalk to allow water to reach the storm drain. The Chapel Hill Country Club did plant small junipers on the hillside which has helped (moderately) prevent mudslides. The HOA will not take responsibility to deal with it (if, in fact, it is their responsibility). We need the towns resources to fix this once and for all, please and thank you!

After a rain

Area has been cleaned. Utility strip at the curb inlet has been graded so water will run off of the sidewalk. The Country Club will need to continue stabilizing the embankment to stop the erosion of the bank.
