Converting North Maple into a two lane road with a mall, a park, and residential development surrounding it? Why? This is a growing city with enough traffic problems as it is. They should be keeping it two lanes and adding a right turn lane onto Dexter in front of Vets Park.

This was the worst decision EVER. We live in Hollywood Park (right off of N Maple) and there is consistent congestion during "rush hour" times in the morning and afternoon (and school hasn't even started-lots of teens driving to Skyline via N Maple). I run/walk daily and crossing N Maple is hazardous (crosswalks at Miller and Dexter-nothing between) at all times during the day. I've seen exactly ZERO bikers using the new buffered bike lanes. Please, please switch it back. What a mess it's become.

I agree with others that car lanes should not have been reduced on N. Maple. Our population is growing and traffic is increasing. I support biking & I do bike, but promoting biking should not be at the expense of motorized vehicles who need to get around town in a timely manner. Biking is not a -season activity, as is driving. Having said that, the signage for the lane reduction is completely inadequate. Motorists should be informed as they approach the lane reductions, and given ample distance to merge. Presently there is only a small sign and very short merge distance. Very poor implementation of an unnecessary and unwanted lane reduction.

I like it as is and people are getting used to it. It's working very well. I really like that people are going the speed limit now instead of whizzing by at 50.

How has the request been addressed? The only change to this intersection since the road diet and this ticket opening has been the placement of bollards. Has the city considered creating a right turn only lane at Dexter or Carbeck?
