I entered a service request about the mosquito problem in your area; our technician should be there within one working day depending on their work load. They will inspect the property and surrounding neighborhood to determine the source of the problem and will take the necessary action to correct the problem; whenever possible we try to target Mosquitoes in the aquatic juvenile stage to control them at the source.

If we cannot get into the property due to locked gates then please check for anything that may be holding rainwater as Mosquitoes will breed in them by the hundreds, we’ll be checking the area surrounding the property for anything that may be contributing to the problem and will take the necessary steps to eliminate or treat the source.

If you are at the property when the technician arrives then please take the opportunity to inform them of your concerns. If you are not at the property when they arrive a card will be left providing you with detailed information on our handling of your request and what we will do to monitor the area for any further problems that may develop.

Spraying is a band aid solution. You need to empty your standing water containers.

sometimes there are ditches and retention ponds and vacant houses with standing water or unclean swimming pools. Emptying standing water out of containers is only one of the problems. Aerial spraying used to work really well - we're all still alive from the days when it was done on a regular basis -- why can't they do that now?

I went out yesterday around 6:30 pm and was bitten numerous times. My wife went out this morning and was also bitten numerous times. To Amy: Of course we empty standing water containers! To anonymous: I agree, I live in an wetland area zoned agriculture with a terrain and fauna that is very difficult to access from the ground, and yes, we all survived when aerial treatments were done on a regular basis. Besides, aerial treatment (spraying is actually the wrong term) involves helicopters dropping a larvicide which is non-toxic to humans and animals. Go to the Mosquito Control website and they tout they have 2 helicopters in their arsenal. Why they are so reluctant to use their most effective means of control is beyond me.

Hi Mr. Lastrapes. Please do not confuse closing a ticket on see-click-fix as us being done with the issue or getting rid of it. See-click-fix is just one of many ways that citizens get in touch with us to handle service requests. The information is taken and entered into our program and assigned to the correct tech for the given area. Closing on see-click-fix is just the way the program works for us to be able to know the service request was entered into our system and move it off the page to help keep track of which ones have been entered, and which ones still need to be entered. So please don't think we are done with inspecting and doing whatever treatment needed after the tech has inspected the area. The tech should be there today since the info was re-entered into the system this morning. As for the helicopters. Yes we have 2 Bell 47s. But 1 pilot. You are correct that is a very valuable tool. And with the recent rains, it has been up everyday treating all over the county. So it is not a case of us not flying or being against flying. Once the tech enters the information from their inspection, if aerial treatment of your surrounding area is warranted, it will be done. Thank you for checking around your home for standing water. While this may seem mundane and common sense to you, the fact that 9 out of 10 service requests still result from breeding found at the home of the caller, shows that the message is still not getting through and needs to be repeated. So thank you for doing your part. We will be out there soon, and treat accordingly to what is found. Whether by ground or air. Your service request is far from closed. It is just closed in this program. Thank you.
