Along the lake behind the historic house, semipermanent encampments with wood, mattresses, tarp and found materials have gone up. They are attached to trees that are now brown and dying. People living there don’t roll up or take down tents and go. They’ve got a kitchen set up and ever-expanding structure. I have great sympathy and know folks need places to live, but this isn’t a good place.
