I also become very annoyed when the City Manager and Chief of Police do not respond to my questions, comments, or concerns on SeeClickFix. However, after a while I started to realize that if they spent all day responding to my postings, that they would become full-time SeeClickFix host, instead of fulfilling their leadership responsibilities to the entire city. I trust that they at least read our comments, and that it might possibly help their efforts in some way.

If they were to at least take the time to briefly acknowledge my comments or concerns, I would then start to feel as if they were trying to blow me off, or were being curt with me.

Basically, there is nothing that they can do to win with the public, other than to spend all day responding to SeeClickFix comments and concerns; and none of us wants them to spend their time doing this.

I actually don't think the city manager, or any of her staff, do see the SeeClickFix entries, or take them into account in managing the city. I think it is a helpful category, but if it is not being used, it should be removed so people don't get frustrated when they get no response. Or the city manager could post an automated response saying "this category is defunct, please contact the city manager directly at this email". The police patrol division has started to generate an email saying "this email is not checked frequently, if you need immediate service please call ______ for parking issues or ______ for other issues".
I didn't get around to emailing this SCF to the city manager, so I'm just going to let this SCF entry sit here and see if the city manager or her staff do respond. My tone was too sharp in my original entry above, so I apologize for that, city manager, if you do see this.

City Manager Kiemach does not return phone call or respond to emails either. Post on SeeClickFix to publicly shame the city of Alameda into responding. Email your posts to the city council and mayor to force the city manager to respond.

I have been told that we are to write to Jill Keimach directly, rather than use SeeClickFix to contact the City Manager. Her email is jkeimach@alamedaca.gov

The city manager also will not return calls. So disabled and elderly persons who are unable to write to the city manager, or who have a time-sensitive issue are completely blocked out of telling the city manager that the staff under her, such as the Building Department/Code Enforcement have failed to do their jobs, and are allowing citizens to be injured. This was a problem with Jill Kiemach, and is an ongoing problem with Liz Warmerdam. I would email, but that doesn't work either, as I still get no response. What is an endangered resident to do?
