PortEd has a legitimate concern and a fair question. It is rude & unprofessional to keep closing this report without explanation...

I totally agree with PortEd here. Our recycling bins are continually thrown onto their side into the street, causing a hazardous traffic condition and thrown into our flower beds. This is not only unprofessional, it’s totally obnoxious. This needs to be addressed and done so seriously. I will call the Portland public works department soon if this is not remedied, as well as shoot some video of the crews as I’ve witnessed him doing this dozens of times.

The city will respond to you soon as we don't require our drivers to put the container up on the sidewalk. This is asking a little to much , especially in the winter. Set next curb or next to esplanade.

Thank you for letting us know what the policy is. I think that it would be wise for the City to publicize where recycling carts should be put out when there is accumulated snow on the ground, and where the carts will be left by the crews. The old bins could be tossed on top of the snow banks, but I'm not sure where the carts can safely/easily be put on the narrower streets without interferring with traffic or plows.
