The baseball diamond at Hunt Park needs some attention. See photo. #1: the chain link at the bottom center of the backstop needs to be pulled down and reattached. #2: the limbs that have grown up through the right side of the backstop should be removed. #3: the rock that is behind the right side of the backstop should be moved or removed. #4: there is a low spot running from home plate where water collects after each rain that should be filled in or raised.

Please don't consider removing the backstop in lieu of repair. A town needs facilities like this.

Living next to Hunt Park, I have noticed that it is rarely, and I mean almost never, used. However, the backstop and diamond are already there and can be fixed up relatively inexpensively and easily, so hope parks and rec does so.

We would use the diamond much more often if it were in better shape. There are no clear base paths, depressions where the batters box would be, along with the issues mentioned above!

This was a popular play area as recently as two or three years ago, but it doesn't get used as often now, since the backstop and grounds haven't been maintained. It'd be great if the City would repair the backstop, and fix up the field.

No matter the connection of the back stop it should be repaired. We pay taxes to fix up our parks so they should be fixed.

Where does this work stand? The backstop fence was fixed earlier this year (spring 2018). Still need to fill the area in front of the backstop so it is level and doesn't fill with rainwater.

I just called the Parks Department on the phone and asked if they would give this issue some attention. They said that would report it, but made no promises beyond that.

This work isn't complete. The backstop fence was fixed, but the hole around home plate needs to be filled in and some grass planted. It would be good to cut the branches that have grown through the backstop back.

The remaining issues that were reported when this issue was reopened on 10/01/2018 have not been addressed. Why was the issue closed (twice) when the work is not complete? When will these issues been taken care of? It has been 18 months since the problems were first reported on 3/30/2017. That is quite a long time.

The first request was closed as we were going through requests that were over a year old. The second request was closed when the majority of the issues were fixed. It will be difficult at this time to establish grass in the hole in the field. This issue will be taken care of in the Spring.

Several weeks ago dirt was spread in the area around home plate to fill in or level the hole. Thanks! It appears that the bush growing through the backstop has been cut back too. That leaves just planting some grass, which I assume will be done in the spring.
