I checked with my neighbors and I know their cars. These are people from out of state (so they're not a neighbor) or from the Embankment which has it's own parking. They need to follow the rules which means they need to register their car or park where it's legal.

It's been a week and still no action. On Coles between 10th and 9th AND on 10th between Jersey and Coles have more than half the cars with no sticker. In some cases they don't even have New Jersey registration. Too many people are visiting the new Embankment building and taking spots for the people who live, own, AND PAY TAXES.
If you insist on not addressing this matter, please give me the department in charge so I can call myself. Also, can I just call the police precinct for action??

I have tried calling the number provided and it only transfers me to a voicemail. Is there another number you have to speak with someone?? Or can you give me the address of where they are located so I can speak with someone directly? This matter needs to be addressed. There are too many cars with out of state plates parking overnight and all day. Additionally the ones with Jersey plates have no parking sticker. Clearly people from the Embankment building are using the neighborhood parking spots, which is illegal. Today I counted 5 out of 12 cars with no sticker or an out of state plate. Clearly they don't care if they get a ticket since they are out of state and there is no recourse. CAN YOU ALSO FORWARD THIS TO THE MAYOR'S OFFICE OR ANOTHER DIVISION SO SOMEONE TAKES ACTION?

I find it absurd that residents have to beg for enforcement. It is disturbing that we are asked to call to notify the division when parking laws are violated. Why isn't the enforcement group division patrolling and ticketing as a matter of routine? I am sure in NYC people do not have to call the parking division in order to have illegally parked vehicles ticketed.

I don't know why this has been closed since the issue is still happening. I have called the Mayor's office (spoke to Diane) as well as the Parking Authority on a daily basis. Nothing has been done!!!
I also see that there are others with the same issue in this area from Jersey Ave to Coles St and from 18th to 9th. The issue stems from the addition of the new buildings. I will be at the next Counsel meeting to air my thoughts. However this issue is NOT RESOLVED AT ALL!!!

Al thank you for the update. I wondered why the complaint was closed without a comment about an outcome.
I have posted about cars parked in the traffic lane on 18th St to Hoboken Ave, across from the Cast Iron Lofts building, and have not heard a thing. The cars are still parking there, in the right hand traffic lane, which is very dangerous. Cars traveling in that lane have to come to a stop and switch into the left lane. Most of the cars have license plates from out of state.
Why do we have to beg that the laws be enforced? It seems very dysfunctional.

This issue has NOT been corrected. I understand the Parking Authority only writes tickets between the hours of 9am to 5pm. I have been told that they have someone who is assigned to this area. I do not believe that. Cars with no permit are parked all day. Cars are clearly parked less than 25 feet from the corner. Cars are clearly parked in the fire hydrant. That's just on the corner of Coles and 10th!!! If you drive down Coles to 18th you can see numerous cars parked illegally. When you arrive at 18th you can clearly see cars parked illegally in an active lane!!! Finally if you go to Jersey Ave just off 10th, you can see an area that clearly states "NO PARKING" with yellow stripes to further show there is no parking. Every day there are cars parked their!!!. Especially the Range Rover and Jeep that are there every single day!! Clearly someone has a "friend" in a higher position. With all the buildings going up, we need a clear plan from the Parking Authority to police the area just as they do in the Downtown area near Columbus. The next election will address this or they will not be re-elected!!
