mosquito control must be a high priority right now so thanks for reporting

I have observed the property and am working with other departments for any corrective measures needing to be taken.

Aaron Petersen, MPA, NPDES & Stormwater Supervisor for the City has observed the retention pond and has informed me that there is no issue with the current condition of pond. With all due respect I am well aware of Mr. Petersen's credentials and past difficulties in city engineering and I really question his qualifications as the city's expert entomologist on mosquitos especially when so much is at stake. In addition, I and my fellow neighbors don't live in areas administrated by Pinellas County. We live in Pinellas Park and if we have a problem we expect to be able to call Pinellas Park with our concerns. Now if Mr. Petersen is willing to shoulder the responsibility and consequences of which pond gets treated and which doesn't then it is on record that he was requested to address this problem and took no action. Please make sure that Mr. Petersen has a chance to review my comments. Upon his review this issue may be closed.

I apologize for the misunderstanding regarding my closing of this issue. The City evaluated only the operational aspects of the pond (overgrown and stagnant) and found no concerns. We're not mosquito experts, but we didn't observe mosquitos and therefore didn't refer this to Pinellas County Mosquito Control at that time.

After receiving your most recent comments, I contacted Pinellas County Mosquito Control and informed them of your concerns. I provided them with the contact information for Sam's Club so they may gain access to the pond for testing. They are quite backlogged at this time.

Further, I will speak with the Sam's Club manager regarding the mosquito concerns. Perhaps they can address the issue prior to a response from Pinellas County Mosquito Control.

Thank you for your patience. I followed up with Pinellas County Mosquito Control today. They advised they visited the site, inspected the pond, and found no mosquito larvae.
