So far nothing has been done by the owner to correct this problem. Has the Code Enforcement Officer followed up with the owner to find out what and when the owner is going to take action?
He has "requested" the owner to resolve the many issues but now it is time to take some enforcement action and have this house fixed up or torn down in a certain time frame. It is a blight on our street.

The owner had negotiated with a new buyer for the property several months ago. The new prospective owners intent was to renovate or demolish the property and build a new building. A new letter and report will be sent to the owner of record requesting the property be demolished or brought into compliance with the applicable codes. The owner has had the excess water removed from the crawl space and some of the debris removal as we requested. The general problems at the property persist and will likely result in the dwelling being demolished. I will report back with updates soon.

How and what action is going to be taken? Demolished? If not will the owner be given a specific time to make it habitable and what are the penalties if failure to comply?

You must have this confused with some other building as this eyesore and health hazard at 115 Kenwood Ave is still standing.What enforcement action is going to be taken to have this house demolished or brought back to livable conditions within a specified time frame. This issue has been ongoing for over two years and all the owner does is tap dance around getting it demolished or fixed with same old story about a prospective buyer

So far the only thing done was to clean up some brush on the lot.
This house is full of mold and has been deemed uninhabitable and all the owner does is give the city the run around on either bring the house into compliance or tearing it down.
When can the city take affirmative action?

I just received an update that the owner of record is taking measures to get the property into compliance with city code. Per section 108 of the adopted property maintenance Code, vacant structures not in danger of collapse must be closed up, secured in an attractive way, and maintained per minimum code. While the building is not currently safe for human habitation, it is allowed to remain on the property as a vacant structure as long as the building remains structurally sound, all openings are secured, and the structure does not fall into such disrepair that it becomes a public nuisance as defined in the IPMC. We are currently addressing the code violations on this property, and you should be able to see a noticeable difference in the near future.
