Description
Car oil - Overflowing buckets of used oil right at entrance to Deering Ct on S side of street, tied w caution tape to "no parking" sign. It's on curb strip right near the creek where could drain right into watershed. Owner of building across street said a man who used to live in the Court still comes and works on people's cars there and leaves the oil. Man's name is Gary but don't have last name.

Dear Sir or Madam:
Thank you for your reply. Hazardous Materials are handled by Oakland Fire Department. They are listed as Fire/Hazardous Materials (HazMat) on the page and they could be reached at (510) 444-3322.
Thank you.

OK, I have called FD and they're going to send someone out. HOWEVER -- in the time since I first reported this, other trash has been added to the pile, for ex a large wooden pallet and miscellaneous trash. So someone from your dept still DOES need to go out and pick that up before more joins it. The FD said they will not pick up that trash; it is Pub Works' responsibility.
Thanks!

Hi,
FYI -- This oil problem has not yet been addressed and now other garbage (non-hazardous) has joined it. So I tried calling (maybe phone will be more effective??) and now there are two separate requests open. Original for haz-oil and new Request #413935 for the 5-6 shopping carts piling up at entrance to Deering Court.
I really hope the oil is gone before July 4 firecrackers start going off in the Court.....
