Update from Stormwater Department: regular annual maintenance (sweeping, etc) performed at location, closed 5/11/15

So far nothing has been done other than what looked like a contractor for the city stop and survey the area a week ago and yesterday 2 men also drove to the end of road to survey the area but everything remains the same as when 1st reported.

The City maintains the streets at that location, however anything on the opposite side of the guardrail is the jurisdiction of the State and would be maintained by the FDOT - we have forwarded your complaint to them to address, but we don't have any way to know when they might be out in investigate that location.

I have attached a photo of email from FDOT stating that this issue lies with the city. The debris behind the guardrail is still there. There has been nothing done.

On or around 03-03-2015 a complaint was made using (St. Petersburg's) see click fix website (issue number 1510757) at the address of 2100 34th Av. N. 33713. The complaint was created due to overgrowth at the end of the dead end city easement and also because of the covert for rain water drainage being clogged with dirt and debris.

To this day the only thing that has been accomplished is finger pointing between the city of St. Petersburg and FDOT. At the dead end street is a guard rail, past that is a chain link fence and interstate I275. St. Petersburg city workers have visited the site and lean on shovels but do nothing! FDOT claims the dirt/debris are a non-issue (on the interstate side).

I am writing this letter not just because this issue has not been resolved, it has worsened. Hopeless people have now set up camp and I am certain this violates St. Petersburg's code Sec. 20-76. - Placement and use of temporary shelters and Sec. 20-75. - Sleeping on right-of-way contiguous to residential property lines.

Please review the attached photos, I am sure you will find both the city of St. Petersburg and FDOT has a "little cleaning up to do" in this regard, after all, we pay our fair share of state and local taxes; Furthermore, my mother is paying property taxes for three lots along the interstate I275: Parcels: 12-31-16-38286-000-0210, 12-31-16-38286-000-0470 and 12-31-16-38286-000-0480.

In conclusion, as my entire family are active voters, I hope this letter ends up in the right hands of capable people who can get this simple request completed and put to rest.
