This has only gotten worse and another homeless guy who collects junk is there now as well. What is to be done about this?

And it's even worse now because another hoarder moved in. I have contacted every department that I could and no one is doing anything. Crime and graffiti has gone up in our area since all these homeless have started squatting on Pine and 11th. Why should we have to tolerate this? Would the city allow this in the nicer, richer areas of Oakland?

Why aren't you doing anything? Now there is three or four people living there. This is my neighborhood and I pay taxes here. They keep bring more and more trash and then the street dumpers add to it as well.

They cleaned up some of this but they brought more crap in. Why is this allowed to happen here? Do you allow this around Lake Merrit or the nicer ares of Oakland?

Danny thank you for the posting updates. With close to 7000 people on the streets of Oakland they are camped out almost every where. My neighborhood had than 40 at one point living on the on and off ramps and in the park and ride at Fruitvale and Hwy 580. It took a strong community effort to get itdown to about 10. What our City and County are doing is not working for the tax payers. Giving an endless stream of goods, food and money is not helping but keeping these people from getting out of the hole they have dug for themselves.

This has grown to have 5-5 spots now. The owner of the building is having his business blocked and the police aren't doing anything. His tenants are angry too.

This sight has gotten 100x worse. They need to clean it out. The trash piled up is unbelievable. It's a fire hazard and Heath hazard.

Buts its only been since 12/01/2014 I am sure PWD is working on a solution??? Thanks for the update.

The van is gone but the camp is still there. Please move this camp over to the mayors neighborhood and see how she like all this junk these camps have.

Every night when I get home and my home is 85 and I open my windows to cool the house down I can because the guy in this homeless encampment is burning crap and the smoke comes into my home. It stinks up my home and I have know idea what he is burning.
This encampment needs to go.

Why bother at this point. It’s now three years and you had several opportunities to get rid of this encampment but you allowed him to stay and Pollute the area with him burning trash and human waste in buckets

The guy who had the van had a stroke and is with family. The other folks just added to this mess and it’s gotten waist. They have had several opportunities to remove this mess and the city didn’t. Shameful

Still there and still burning stuff at night and the encampment has grown. Thanks Oakland for allowing this right next to my home and the 47 new homes being built here that ads to your tax base.
