Today I visited Lyon Avenue to investigate a request to install "NO PARKING" signs on the northside of Lyon Avenue (Westbound side) from All Saints Road to #9832. This is a residential street adjacent to a church. The roadway is 26 feet wide with no pavement markings. The street in this area is straight with no sight distance issues. I not understand the concern of vehicles parked on the WB side of the street. Perhaps the resident that initiated the concern could contact me so I may better understand. (Scott Mason 443-741-3715)

An investigation has been completed and it was determined that the no parking signs are not required this time. I have attached a photo that shows the clear view of the road. The road width is 26 feet and allows parking on both sides of the road and two ways traveling direction. If vehicles are parking within 5 feet from your driveway, I encourage you and other residents to contact the Howard County Police to request enforcement - it would aid them if you can provide them with a typical time of day you notice that the vehicles are blocking your driveway. Howard County municipal Code Title 21 Section 221 prohibit any vehicles to park within 5 feet without owner's consent.

HCPD is accepting the reporting of non-emergency traffic complaints via online reporting at the following link: https://www.howardcountymd.gov/police/report-traffic-complaints. Complaints are being accepted in three categories, Isolated Traffic Incidents, Recurring Traffic Incidents, and Parking Complaints. The internet portal is what is used by HCPD to determine and schedule enforcement.
