It’s definitely an issue. We have needed a sidewalk there for a long time. Traffic is much worse now with all the bikes and with so many non residents parking all the way on one side of Farrington Ave. There’s no choice but to walk in the street.

There has been no response from the town and the issue is still there. I would appreciate a response!

It’s a shame the city didn’t have the contactor add a sidewalk what they built those 6 townhouses across from Niles, other cities do that.

Its almost a year later, and still no response on this issue. Now we have more construction and more vehicles and still no safe place to walk.
Why do we have this system if no one responds to the citizens?

I was told that “Joe” from DPW was looking into this issue. Would appreciate an update. We (walkers) are still navigating the traffic and trying to avoid cars.

I apologize for City’s protracted lack of response - all excellent questions and valid safety concerns. I have asked these same questions to Administration, Community Development’s “SafeStreets” coordinator, and DPW. Long term my hope is for sidewalks extending from Niles the length of Farrington, to the Back Shore, for a complete safe pedestrian loop.

I am still waiting for the city to take our concern’s seriously. Walkers are still not safe and our city doesn’t seems to care. Where is our major?
