Thanks for reporting this issue. We need the community's help to solve these incidents. If you have further information (car license, color of car,description of person or people doing the dumping) please call the Non Emergency Number 203-946-6316 and use this incident's CAD # to help resolve the issue. We will pick up the items when we can.

I suggest talking to the owners and/or tenants of 494 Central, where this has been a recurring issue over many years. LCI knows about it.

With all due respect to Public Works, if we (the neighbors) had witnessed the dumping we would certainly have intervened, contacted NHPD, and/or recorded license plates, etc. Our "gut" feeling is that it's the owner or tenants of 494 (right next door). Since we have no eyewitness, we can only turn to the city to deal with this eyesore. My wife called Nick at LCI and he said he will check on it. What else can we do? Now if the city wants to pay for a surveillance camera we might be able to get better info. Until then all we can do is report after the fact and rely in Public Works/LCI to respond to these sorts of neighborhood problems.

How can DPW consider the issue "closed" when a) the junk is still there, b) it will predictably attract more junk from passersby, and c) most important, this happens year after year at the same address? Please take action. Clean it up, fine them, whatever means are at your disposal.

@cs- you are the exception- most neighbors turn a blind eye and then complain no one can do anything. If PW doesn't remind the general public to report these things....
@ neighbor- issue is not closed, it is still acknowledged and Nick at LCI is very good at what he does. He will take care of it.

Repeat offenders can be very frustrating. Hang in there and keep a look out. Some one will eventually catch them in the act.

@NH Resident, DPW wrote above: "We are closing this issue." That sounds like "closed" to me. And I don't think there's much mystery about where this junk came from. Again, LCI knows the history.

Update: My wife spoke with Nick at LCI today and he stated that LCI would take care of this. I still wonder why Public Works listed it as closed. Fortunately, LCI is very responsive- which we appreciate!

Another update: LCI cleaned up the mess today. Thank you LCI! I hope someone is looking into how it got there and what steps the city can take to prevent this problem, again and again and again, at this address.

We are closing older 2013-2016 Illegal Dumping Issues found on Public Spaces (roads, tree belts, sidewalks) in order to focus on current Issues.
