My blue 2002 VW Jetta was stolen from my driveway between 9:30pm and 10pm, Monday November 17th. The car was locked. It was a cold and rainy night so not many people were out running or walking their dogs. CT license plate 6AK BN3. All windows on doors are tinted except for the front passenger side. If anyone has seen this car, please contact New Haven police.

Lead is a dangerous neurotoxin that destroys nerve tissue and causes a variety of health and neurological problems, particularly in children. Avgas-fueled aircraft are the single largest source of lead air emissions in the country. See Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in 2010.
A July 2011 study from Duke University published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives supports concerns about the severe and negative public health consequences caused by lead emissions from aircraft. The report found that children living within 500 meters of an airport at which planes use leaded avgas have higher blood lead levels than other children. This effect of aircraft lead emissions on blood lead levels was also evident among children living within 1 kilometer of airports. The researchers concluded that there is a significant association between potential exposure to lead emissions from aviation gasoline and blood lead levels in children.
Results of lead monitoring conducted by EPA at 17 general aviation airports around the country were announced in June 2013, confirming the existing danger and further reinforcing the need for immediate EPA action to phase out lead in avgas.
What is happening at Tweed Airport?!?!

I was just looking at the Complete Streets 2.0 information on the City Website and City Point (Sea St., South Water St.) is not listed as having a submitted application http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/Engineering/completestreets.asp. We had a meeting with Hausladen over the summer and we were told it takes years for a project to be approved. We were told that a traffic study would take place in the fall and nothing has happened yet.
On another note, Olive St. is now the focus for traffic safety...I thought it took years??? I am sorry that a life was lost, but is this what it takes to get the city to take action? We are trying to prevent a serious accident yet nothing seems to be happening? More hot air from the city...

A large orange and white long haired cat has been hanging out in our yard and under our porch. He looks well fed but his coat is very dirty. If you know that he/she belongs to someone, please let me know. Otherwise I will capture him and take him to a shelter if possible. I will try to post a photo soon.

The guy that runs Maresca & Sons funeral home on Chapel street is blowing all of his leaves off of his private property into city streets. This is only 3 days after the city ran street sweepers through here. He does the same thing in the winter with his snow. I don't know if this is illegal, but it sure is inconvenient to his neighbors and the city works department.
