Snow removal is occurring on King Place today. Emergency Order No Parking signs have been posted. Upon completion, the signs will be removed and this issue will be closed
I am a resident homeowner on the 'one block long, one way, parking on one side only 'King Place. I have advised NHPW that the CURB-TO-CURB SNOW REMOVAL scheduled for today on the odd-side ONLY of King Place (as I was advised) would be a wasted effort because the residents adhere to the NO PARKING THIS SIDE OF STREET and it is already cleared from regular plowing. The buildup is on the even side of the street and it is this snow that needs to be removed. I was told that the even side would be scheduled for another time (even though they knew about the need when they first planned this schedule). I was also told that if there was no buildup on the odd side the plows and payloaders would move on to the next acheduled street. I reiterated that King Place turns onto Truman Street (which is 5 blocks long one way with parking on BOTH sides and is dangerously narrow because of the buildup) and this street needs to be cleared so school buses and emergency vehicles can safely travel. One car already sustained damage from a plow that couldn't pass easily. I was told the supervisor would contact me -but I have not heard from anyone yet.
This is King before the CUBR-TO-CURB scheduled for today. Not too bad ... and the clean side is the odd side which is the ONLY side scheduled for clearing today.
And here is TRUMAN STREET which is where King turns into, which is not scheduled for any CURB-TO-CURB ...as of yet. WITH vehicles parked on odd side where there are signs clearly posted that say NO PARKING DURING SNOW EMERGENCY.
