There are two adjacent properties that were recently demolished on the west side of Downing between Lombard and Peck. As of today the demo waste has not been cleaned up. What's left is piles of bricks, plaster, and various debris.
Yesterday I saw four young kids playing here. The site is completely unsecured. This is extremely hazardous due to the risk of injury or exposure to toxic substances.
These sites need to be secured immediately. And I certainly hope that the owners are planning to clean them up and not leave them in their current state.

You should contact OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration) immediately. The fact that this is a privately owned site does not matter. The same rules and safety regulations apply.
Go to www.osha.gov or call them at 1-800-321-OSHA to report an emergency, or (212) 337-2378.

Once again saw a large group of kids playing at this demolition site. Playing unsupervised in an unsecured site full of broken glass, twisted metal, uneven surfaces, holes in the ground, and assorted loose rubble. Totally unacceptable and blighting the neighborhood.
LCI?

I have contacted our Police District Manager to ensure his officers keep an eye on this. I have also contacted LCI so they may have the Housing Authority secure the site.
