Code Enforcement has found the site to be in violation and has notified the Property Management Company of the Clawson Shopping Center who will enforce the Ordinance and clean it up. Code Officer will visit the site Tuesday - Thursday at lunch time to try to witness the illegal dumpers. If you witness any illegal dumping please call the Police.

Code Enforcement Officer checked on Saturday, September 17th and the debris was removed. Please contact code at 248-435-4500 ext. 113 if it returns. Please provide the date you see this if it happens again. Thank you for reporting.

it's a real shame to have to cut beautiful branches off of healthy trees just to ferret out thoughtless miscreants and scofflaws. Couldn't somebody just keep an eye on the spot in question and notify the police when they see illegal dumping taking place?

Besides, other than the illegal dumpers, all the abovementioned activity is really no one else's business; if folks are slacking off from their jobs it's up to their supervisors/managers to deal with that.

It is 100% my business because it is on my street and it reflects on my property value.

James, the city seems to be doing what they can. If you witness that call police, its a criminal matter in other words.

By the way, in regards to some earlier reactions, reading comments in full and thereby being able to grasp their true and full meaning before jumping to erroneous conclusions might just be helpful.

I would like to personally accompany the Code Enforcement Officer for the re-inspection. She is obviously not looking at the right spot because NOTHING has been moved. She can contact me through here or look me up in the tax rolls.
I am disabled. If I have to I will initiate complaints regarding the Federal Disabilities Act to ensure that a wheelchair bound person, a blind person, or a person on crutches can traverse the Blue Spruce covered sidewalk on the northeast side of South Batchewana.

If you feel your rights are being violated in regards to branches being your way as a disabled person, I would suggest you call a lawyer and file a Complaint against the City if you feel you are being ignored. The City will not allow you to accompany a government figure to inspect this site, as it would be a liability to them if you are disabled and got hurt while accompanying them. (I have worked in the law firm business for the last 14 years). Illegal dumping is a criminal act - as above stated, you must call the police if you witness it.

Adri...to your earlier comment. The police will do NOTHING unless they SEE the dumpers in the act.

Yes. Unfortunately. The City can only as well monitor the situation. But they certainly should not be saying it was cleaned up when it hasn't..................

Overhang 0f sidewalk, = 6 ft. plus reach, (reach) brings it to brings it to 8 ft, using the body for measuring.

The Senior Property Manager of the Clawson Center has a work order to remove illegal dumping and trim the trees that are sticking out over the sidewalk.
