Already posted issue 1955861 with a photo and address, the issue was acknowledged early Oct, no follow-up from DPW
All of Curtis Ave needs to be evaluated, particularly the older east side. There are many sections that are cracked, worn, and heaved. Didn't know if it was be better to contact someone at DPW directly or if SCF is enough? I can take more pictures if needed.

Thank you for your interest in our City’s sidewalks. In order for the DPW to inspect sidewalk condition we must receive a Request For Service (RFS). These can be submitted through either Customer Service (802) 863-9094 or through See, Click, Fix at http://en.seeclickfix.com/burlington_2. Once the request has been processed, it will be added to our list of locations to be inspected. After the sidewalk has been inspected, it gets evaluated for the type of repair needed and added to our system.
We are currently experiencing a 2-3 year backlog on sidewalk requests due to a severely underfunded sidewalk program. This list is typically addressed in chronological order from oldest to newest request with exceptions for sidewalk repairs that are deemed a significant safety hazard or repairs that are part of another planned project already scheduled.

I have lived on the street for 4 years. Many neighbors have commented that the City has been informed of Curtis Ave's sidewalks for years, but nothing seems to happen.
The owners of 43 Curtis have a blind son. Years ago the Vermont Association for the Deaf and Visually Impaired took photos and contacted the city with hopes of having the sidewalks fixed. The Vermont Society for the Deaf and Visually Impaired were told that this is just how it is.
I've have heard the current sidewalk budget is underfunded, and at its current budget it will take 100 years to replace Burlington's Sidewalks. If we cant repair the sidewalks we have, why are we putting new sidewalks on streets that have never had them for the last 50+ years?
I hope the City will take this request seriously. From what neighbors have told me the City has ignored Curtis Ave's sidewalks for some time. I will be attempting to contact the Engineer overseeing the sidewalks this week or next. Thank you for the help.

Thank you again for contacting us regarding the sidewalk condition in your area.
Currently, all sidewalk requests are being processed by engineering in an effort to help streamline the repair process. A sidewalk inventory was taken in the fall of 2014 and is currently in draft form undergoing quality checking. This inventory will allow us to objectively rate the condition of Burlington’s entire sidewalk network. If the sidewalk program receives additional funding, this inventory will allow us to plan more comprehensive repairs to lengths of sidewalk in desperate need of rehabilitation. For perspective, the highest ranking sidewalk segment on Curtis Avenue has a score of 63.5/175 while some of the worst sidewalks in the City have scores over 120/175.
Small repairs focused on safety concerns will be addressed more immediately. However these shorter length repairs already have a 2 to 3 year backlog which continues to grow every year. Currently 86 and 49 Curtis Avenue are on that list to be addressed per the requests that were submitted to the City. If there is another area of sidewalk that you believe should be evaluated for an immediate safety concern and added to this list, please submit a request.

Sure thing, Thank you for the follow-up. I guess we can keep our fingers crossed and hope for more funds to maintain current sidewalks. Thank you for adding 86 and 49 Curtis Ave to the list. What happened to other requests by neighbors and The Vermont Association for the Deaf and Visually Impaired submitted to the City years ago?
I would agree, there are many sections of Curtis Ave's sidewalks that appear brand new (the highest rank being 63.5/175), but there are other areas that are in much worse shape, many broken and heaved segments that should be considered safety issues. What are the worse areas on Curtis ranked?
Ill take some photos and post a few more requests for sidewalk repair on Curtis. Thank you for your time.
