Thanks for reporting, Brian. There is a number of these sunken sections of sidewalk which need attention. Big puddles like this, regardless of time of year, discourage people from walking, encourage driving and traffic congestion/CO2 generation/limitations on parking spaces and in-town business activity; and promote erosion and transport of algal-feeding nutrients in the lake by pedestrian avoidance onto adjacent soils. Can the greenbelt be lowered to promote drainage?

This one actually drained once the compacted snow in the greenbelt melted. Viewed in warmer conditions you can see how the city engineers did their best to put the new concrete at a level to accommodate the runoff from the adjacent lot. There are several nearby examples of sidewalks and crosswalks literally poured below grade, but this one is probably the best the situation allowed. I personally wouldn't mind this issue being closed.

This issue regarding flooding is closed - this street is still on the sidewalk repair list.
