Description

"NO PARKING" signs bent, faded and damaged on the north side of Floral Parkway from Keele St. to Macleod St. The street is presently closed at Keele, however a problem that has plagued the residents fronting on the north and south side of Floral Pkwy is the tow truck drivers. When the road was open, they would park 24/7, on the 'no parking' side of the street, two, three or four. They await accidents on the 401 and have easy access to the 401 east. They idle their trucks, block building entrances, litter (especially urine in water bottles) and disturb the residents when they back up their trucks or when they speak loudly on their radios. Some have also have been aggressive with tenants whom have approached them and asked them to move. They park and turn around on private property. We are afraid they will be back and we want the city to replace the old signs and put prominent new 'no parking' signs close to the road before the road is opened again. It would be helpful if it could also be a 'no-stopping' , 'no-parking' zone or 'no-standing' zone for the safety of the tenants and pedestrians. This problem has been reported to the police and MTO by many tenants over the past few years but nothing has been done about it.

Since the construction is almost over, the tow truck drivers take the liberty of moving the orange and black pylons out of the way so that they can park in the little enclave at Keele and get to the 401 easily. We look forward to some assistance with this matter. Thank you.
